OMG...this game is so fun!!!! Okay, I MUST start saving for it!

stuck in shop with not enough stars to buy 'required' items for next round. Won't let you replay last round to increase # of stars, so can't move forward or back...please advise. Am I doing something incredibly dumb??

I can't get people to rent the little orange and white tubes. That one messes me up every time I'm trying to get master level. Is there a way to make them want those?
