How about adding a little "treat" at the end of each level or some of the levels. For instance, when one finishes a level there's a surprise pop-up picture, or a bonus round, or something else. Surprise us! A.S.

Carrying on frommy last post, the following is more of a suggestive comment than a moan. If you took on board some of these ideas, well...I'll stop waffling and get to it lol. You should also consider changing some of the bonuses, or adding more, as after a while you become habituated to the excitement and it's no longer as much fun. I've bought all the level expansion packs simply because I'm an arkanoid junkie, but to be honest, even though the last few packs have been visually more stunning than their predecessors, I've only played the first few levels. In fact the only expansion pack I've actually ever finished is triangle worlds. some of the original packs have been well played but not finished, but the free pack for example has only had the first level played. All those from Space Abstraction onwards have only had the first few levels played using the same powerups time after time has made the game a little stale. There's a whole bunch of powerups you could add or change. Or even give the player the choice of selecting say 20 from a library of 40 or more power ups. Using different combinations of power ups changes the game play significantly. Giving the player the ability to do this would give unlimited variability. The rebound series changed their power ups between the first offering and the second, which made the game firstly seem more of a bargain, and also more enjoyable. Here's a list of some of the different power ups and other effects (not exhaustive, but enought to give you an idea as to the possibilities of making hyperballoid definitely the best game ever. i've come across over the past few months, that really do add a lot to arkanoid) Bat shape changers, that affect the bay the ball reacts to hitting the bat and thus changes the physics of the ball movement. Changing the ball shape gun ball, where the ball shoots either small laser or bullets from the moving ball randonly in all directions, which chips away at the bricks and you could also have a tick box for indicating whether it damages your bat as well. Freeze ball, which weakens stronger bricks by making them brittle Toxic ball, which causes the surrounding bricks to be affected factory brick, that when hit spawns another type of brick, and theonly way to destroy a factory brick is to destroy another brich that is usually protected and very hard to destroy explosive ball that can detonate a charge after it has been resupplied by the bat pregnant ball, that spawns a ball whenever it destroys certain bricks. defensive wall. , when this power up is caught it protects a significant proportion of the out of bounds area. This can either be made destructable so that bits of it are destroyed as the ball hits it, or semi permanent, this type however would need to be an incomplete barrier, board reversal, where the entire board is turned upside down, so that you are playing from the top instead of the bottom bonus levels, where when a particular brick is destroyed and the bonus is captured the player is diverted to a level within a level, that should be a little smaller. if completed extra bonuses couls apply score increasing powerup, wherby every hit is doubled tripled or quadrupled. This could work ainan accumulative way. obstructions on the gameplay area that just get in the way. These could be any shape or even wriggling worms. (See Breakquest) There are so many more ideas that could be added. You could add adjustors so that powerups could be reduced or increased or change the ratio of good to bad etc. need I say more. lol LETS see either some of these ideas implemented or a levels editor added.

Over the past 6 months I've probably spent over $500 on arkanoid style games. I didn't realise until recently when I totalled up the games I've bought since buying the original hyperballoid, which is one of the more interesting ones, however I personally think you've really pushed the franchise to it's limits with regards to expansion packs. The game to buy in it's entirety is now $139.91, which to be honest no matter how good a game is, is just ridiculous. The fact that you've only release one free expansion pack out to the community as well which was available when I purchased the original plus two other packs. Why haven't you released an editor with this so that we can start to make our own levels. If reflexive entertainment can release one for what is probably the best ever arkanoid game after releasing only two versions of the game rebound. (rebound and rebound-lost worlds,) The community for that game have posted thousands of amazing levels all free. And the developers have released the best 150 levels of these as a third version called rebound - lost worlds recharged. The community responded by buying the game even though with patience you could download these levels for free from the dedicated site. you really should do the same. I already see unrest in the ranks. Your game is one of the best, but I have several games with level editors, Adventure ball, 3D Brick Blaster unlimited, rebound - lost worlds (and the enthusiasts created levels rebound - lost worlds recharged) as well as X- ray ball to name a butfew, all of which are themselves brilliant arkanoid games with a lot of gameplay to them that in some ways surpasses hyperballoid. and yeah we need some more music because I find it irritating. The music score for Timebreaker is far superior. Thanks Hyperballoid for a trully entertaining and visually stunning game- WhiteRabbit
